Why use SureSMS in Shopify?
The vast majority of Shopify users have chosen this marketing shopping system because it offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface that makes it easy for even novices to create and manage their e-commerce stores without the need for technical expertise.
Although Shopify markets itself on the ability to send SMS messages directly in the system, we have some bad news for those of you marketing in the Danish market: Shopify cannot send SMS messages in Denmark. At least not yet, but maybe one day it will be possible.
You can choose from many different apps in Shopify's APP store that offer SMS. What they all have in common, however, is that they are companies with a focus on the US market. This means that delivery reliability in Denmark is poor, prices are high and they do not comply with Danish regulations.
The good news is that Shopify integrates with third-party systems like SureSMS. So you can comply with GDPR and marketing law, get great prices, exceptional delivery reliability and features like MobilePay and attachments.
How to integrate with Shopify
There are three ways we integrate with Shopify
- Your address book in SureSMS is kept up to date with your customers in Shopify. When you need to send an SMS, you use the SureSMS platform.
- You ship from campaigns or automations in Shopify
- SureSMS receives your sales data from Shopify so you can perform attribution and see if a shipment has been profitable.
Synchronization of contacts
If you choose to have an integration where contacts need to be synchronized between Shopify and SureSMS, this is done in a very practical way using automations in Shopify. Your automations ensure that when a contact is added or removed from a list in either Shopify or SureSMS, they are correspondingly added or removed in the opposite program. This way, the two lists are always in sync - even if a contact chooses to unsubscribe from SMS messages (also known as opt out). We're happy to set up these automations for you as we integrate the two platforms.
The benefits The beauty of this solution is that you expand your options with SMS communication. In SureSMS, there are a number of options that are not available in Shopify. For example, you can see data about open and click-through rates, and you have the option to send attachments.
Disadvantages The problem with this solution is, of course, that you have two different systems with the same list and therefore have to work on two different platforms. Naturally, this can be an annoyance, but we rarely find this to be a problem for our customers.
Send SMS directly from Shopify
It is also possible to create your SMS integration between Shopify and SureSMS, so that you send your SMS directly from Shopify, but still via our SMS API. With this solution, you still have your reporting functions inside SureSMS, but you need to go into Shopify's system to see the result of your sending.
The benefits of this solution is that you only need to work on one platform. This solution is therefore great if you work a lot with SMS as part of your automation.
Disadvantages is, of course, that you lose some features that are not possible in Shopify. For example, this solution is not ideal if you work a lot with bulk sending - sending many SMS messages to many contacts at once.
Receive order data from Shopify
This integration is not about sending SMSs, but finding out if it was good business. We do this by retrieving order data from Shopify and showing it accumulated in SureSMS. The integration simply finds out which of the SMS messages you sent out resulted in orders and how big the orders were.
If you have your cost price in Shopify, we can also find out what you earned from it.
You can choose your own attribution parameters when you create your reports. This means that you can set the attribution window for how long it should take from the SMS is sent until the order is placed.
