Notes

Country: Belize (BZ).

Belize is located in Central America and has the country code 501. When sending SMS messages to this country, there are specific guidelines that must be followed. Alphanumeric sender IDs are supported for the BTL network, but will be overwritten if sent to the Smart network to ensure delivery. Numeric sender IDs are not allowed unless a two-way service is offered. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc. are prohibited.

For marketing traffic, it is necessary to obtain consent from recipients before sending messages. It is important to note that P2P traffic is prohibited and no content related to politics, religion, unsolicited advertising or gambling may be sent. In addition to these specifications, our Acceptable Use Policy applies to the content of the messages.

We recommend that you stay updated on the current rules as they may change. We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information about text messaging in Belize.
