Sri Lanka (LK) has specific guidelines for sending SMS messages. The country code is 94 and the mobile country code is 413. To ensure correct message delivery, it is necessary to register sender IDs. Alphanumeric sender IDs, such as 41302 for Dialog, require registration and unregistered IDs will be overwritten. For the Hutchison network (41303/41308) the same requirements apply. Additionally, it is important that the message content contains the brand name that matches the sender ID. Numeric sender IDs such as 41302 for Dialog and 41305 for Airtel will also be overwritten to ensure delivery. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS and NOTICE are not allowed.
When it comes to marketing traffic, it is a requirement that consent is obtained from users before messages are sent. P2P traffic is not allowed and no content that is political, religious, unsolicited promotional or related to gambling may be sent. There are no additional content restrictions beyond those stated in our Acceptable Use Policy.
It is important to note that the rules for SMS broadcasting may change and we strive to keep the information updated and correct. If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact our support team.
