Sending ID guidelines
Alphanumeric sender IDs are supported and require prior registration. If an SMS is sent with an unregistered sender ID, the SMS will be delivered with a random local virtual number or short code. For registered sender IDs, attempts will always be made to deliver messages without changing the sender ID. However, situations may arise where messages are delivered via an alternative route with a changed sender ID to a short code if there are quality issues with the route for registered sender IDs. It is possible to define international or national alphanumeric sender IDs for traffic sent to Telcel, Movistar, AT&T and Altan Redes.
Numeric sender IDs are not supported unless they are offered as part of our service. A Local Virtual Number (LVN) service works for incoming traffic. A dedicated LVN is assigned to an account to receive incoming traffic and this service is available to all operators in Mexico. For outbound traffic, messages will be delivered with a pool of LVNs that rotate randomly to ensure delivery. Customers must specify the LVN in the outbound message for the end user to respond to in order to enable two-way communication. Other numeric sender IDs will be overwritten to ensure delivery. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE, etc. are prohibited.
Use cases and content
To send marketing traffic, prior consent from mobile users is required. Marketing messages are allowed with the exception of content related to adults, alcohol and politics.
Please note that SMS broadcasting terms in individual countries are constantly changing and we cannot be held responsible for incorrect information. However, we do our best to ensure that all information on specific terms is up-to-date and accurate.
