El Salvador (SV) is located in Central America and has the country code 503. When it comes to sender IDs, alphanumeric sender IDs are supported for operators Digicel and Tigo without any registration or whitelisting requirements. Sender IDs used before November 1, 2025 are already whitelisted on the Claro network. To introduce a new alphanumeric sender ID to Claro, please contact your account manager for information on registration requirements. It should be noted that alphanumeric sender IDs are not supported for Movistar and if an SMS is sent with an alphanumeric sender ID, it will be changed to a random local virtual number to ensure delivery.

Numeric sender IDs are not supported unless offered as part of a two-way service. If an SMS is sent with an international numeric sender ID to Tigo, the sender ID will also be changed to a random local virtual number to ensure delivery. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE, etc. are not allowed.

For marketing traffic, it is necessary to obtain consent from users before sending messages. It is important to note that P2P traffic is prohibited, as is content related to politics, religion, unsolicited promotion or gambling. There are no additional content restrictions beyond those outlined in our Acceptable Use Policy.

Please note that the rules for SMS broadcasting may change and we strive to keep the information updated and correct. For further assistance or questions, we recommend contacting our experts.
