Dominican Republic (DO) is located in North America and has a mobile country code (MCC) of 370. When sending SMS messages to this country, there are specific sender ID guidelines. Alphanumeric sender IDs are generally supported, but be aware that they are not allowed on the Codetel network (37002) where they will be changed to a random short code to ensure delivery. Numeric sender IDs are allowed on the Altice (37003) and Viva (37004) networks, but not on Codetel, where they will also be changed to a random shortcode.
Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE, etc. are prohibited on the Codetel network. When sending marketing messages, it is important to obtain consent from recipients before sending messages. Marketing content is generally allowed, with the exception of adult content, alcohol and political content, which requires approval. Religious content is also allowed subject to approval.
It is important to note that P2P traffic is prohibited, as is unsolicited promotion and gambling content. In addition, the general guidelines in our Acceptable Use Policy apply. We strive to keep the information updated and correct, but we cannot be held responsible for changes in legislation that may affect SMS broadcasting in Dominican Republic.
