Costa Rica (CR) has specific guidelines for sending SMS messages. Sender IDs can be alphanumeric and there is the option to change Sender IDs to ensure delivery. It is important to note that numeric Sender IDs are not supported unless offered as part of a two-way service. Generic Sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc. are not allowed.
When it comes to usage and content, prior consent from users is required before sending marketing messages. It is important to adhere to the content guidelines as P2P traffic is prohibited. No political, religious, unsolicited promotional or gambling-related content may be sent. Other than these specifications, there are no additional content restrictions that go beyond our Acceptable Use Policy.
