Country: Bangladesh (BD).
In Bangladesh, there are specific rules for sending A2P SMS messages. Sender ID guidelines require alphanumeric sender IDs to be registered for local operators including Grameenphone, Robi Axiata and Teletalk. It is necessary that the message content contains the brand name that matches the sender ID. Unregistered sender IDs will be blocked. For other networks, alphanumeric sender IDs are supported, while numeric sender IDs are not allowed unless offered through a two-way service. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc. are prohibited.
The content of the SMS messages must adhere to strict guidelines as operators actively filter content for spam and sensitive keywords. For example, mentioning "police" in the message content is prohibited. For marketing messages, it is necessary to obtain consent from recipients before sending traffic. It is also prohibited to send P2P traffic as well as content related to politics, religion, unsolicited promotion or gambling. There are no additional content restrictions beyond those described in our Acceptable Use Policy.
It is important to note that the rules for SMS messaging in individual countries may change and we strive to keep all information updated and accurate. For further information or assistance, please contact our support team.
