Notes
Country: Uganda (UG)
In Uganda, there are specific guidelines for the use of sender ID and content when sending SMS messages. Alphanumeric sender IDs are supported for most mobile networks, however, pre-registration is required for the MTN network. Sender IDs are case sensitive and must include the brand name. Numeric sender IDs are not supported unless offered as part of a two-way service. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE, etc. are not allowed.
Before sending marketing messages, consent is required from the recipients. It is important to note that person-to-person (P2P) traffic is prohibited, nor is content related to politics, religion, unsolicited promotion or gambling. There are no additional content restrictions beyond those stated in our Acceptable Use Policy.
We do our best to ensure that all information on specific terms is up-to-date and accurate. However, it is important to be aware that the rules for SMS broadcasting in individual countries may change. For further information or assistance, please contact our support team.
