Nepal (NP) has specific rules for sending A2P SMS messages. Sender ID guidelines require alphanumeric sender IDs to be registered and sender IDs related to gambling or adult content are not allowed. Numeric Sender IDs are not supported and will be overwritten to ensure delivery. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc. are prohibited. To begin the Sender ID registration process, it is recommended to contact your account manager or support.
It is important to note that social invitations are not allowed in Nepal. Any traffic of this nature will be blocked by operators, which may result in all your traffic to Nepal being blocked completely. For marketing traffic, prior consent from mobile users is required before sending messages.
There are additional restrictions prohibiting P2P traffic as well as content related to politics, religion, unsolicited promotion, adult content or gambling. In addition to these specific restrictions, the general guidelines in our Acceptable Use Policy apply. It is important to stay updated as the rules for text messaging in different countries may change. We strive to ensure that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
