Notes
Ecuador (EC) has specific rules for sending SMS messages. Alphanumeric and numeric sender IDs are not supported and will be changed to a random short code to ensure delivery. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE, etc. are prohibited.
To send marketing messages, prior consent from the recipients is required. Content related to domestic transactions must be registered and follow applicable guidelines. The same applies to domestic promotional messages. Suppliers only accept delivery between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm local time (GMT-5) and promotional messages are not allowed on public holidays. Messages sent outside of this time will be queued and delivered the following day.
P2P traffic and content related to politics, religion, unsolicited promotion or gambling is prohibited. Further content restrictions are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
We recommend staying updated on changes to the rules, as the terms for SMS messages may change. For further information or specific questions, please contact your account manager.
