Notes
Afghanistan (AF) - Important notice: Mobile phone services have resumed in Afghanistan. However, there may be challenges in delivering SMS messages to this country.
Sends ID guidelines:
For alphanumeric transmitter IDs, registration is required for MTN and the transmitter ID must be case-sensitive and contain the brand name. Other networks support alphanumeric transmitter IDs. For numeric transmitter IDs, the AWCC's ID will be changed to a generic alphanumeric transmitter ID to ensure delivery. MTN does not support numeric sender IDs. Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc. are prohibited.
The use of SMS for marketing purposes requires prior consent from mobile users. P2P traffic is prohibited and no political, religious, unsolicited advertisements or content related to gambling may be sent. No additional content restrictions apply beyond those described in our Acceptable Use Policy.
We do our best to ensure that all information on specific terms is up-to-date and accurate, but we cannot be held responsible for any changes in SMS broadcasting rules in individual countries.
