Grant access to a Conlan lock via text message
Conlan SMS Used to grant guests access via a PIN code sent via text message. The guest sends a password to your number. SureSMS responds with a PIN code for the Conlan lock when you are open. SureSMS is not the lock itself.
You need to take care of that first
- A Conlan lock and its Lock PID from the person who installed the lock.
- A SureSMS number that can receive text messages and a sender name for the reply text message.
- A password that the guest must enter, for example
PORT. - The text the guest should receive when the code is provided and when the venue is closed.
- A phone you can test with.
How to Set Up the Lock
- Go to Integrations → Conlan.
- Click Create a new lock.
- Give the lock a name that you'll recognize on the list.
- Enter the password Keyword.
- Select the group, incoming number, and sender for the reply text message.
- Fill out Lock PID and the code fields the supplier has provided you with, including Seed and Code Type. An incorrect value will result in a code that the lock does not accept.
- Type your message in Reply to text messages with a PIN.
- Select Hours of Operation.
- Click Gem.
Select opening hours
- The store is open 24/7: Codes are issued around the clock.
- The store is open during the hours listed below: Please specify the times when codes may be issued.
- The store is now closed (no codes are being issued): Use this when no one is allowed to have the code.
Enter the text in Text message replies when the store is closed, so the guest understands why no code is provided.
How to Test
- Send a text message with the password to the number during the open period.
- Make sure you receive a PIN in return.
- Try the PIN on the lock.
- Switch to "Closed," or test outside of business hours.
- Resend the password and verify that the "closed" message is returned.
- Open up View log and monitor the events.
Optional: MobilePay and MitID
If you want to require payment before providing the code, see MobilePay link in a text message. MitID can be arranged separately if access requires identification.
If another system also needs to be notified when the guest types, see Webhooks for Incoming SMS Messages.
