It is possible from the regular SMS app on your Android phone to send an SMS to a group. Exactly how to do this depends a bit on the user interface, including both which version of Android and which phone you have. But in general, this guide works if you're a little creative in understanding the intent. Sometimes the buttons are in different places and have slightly different names.

The disadvantage of group SMS on Android is that the replies go into the individual's thread. So you can't see the replies to your SMS in the same thread as it was sent.

First, you need to change the way you send group messages:

1. First, open "Messages"

1. Then tap more and then on

1. Settings and preferences Advanced Group messaging

1. Next, select "bulk SMS" or "group SMS" as your default.

Now you can select multiple recipients or groups when creating a new SMS.
