Sending SMS from WP-SMS
WP-SMS and SureSMS
The WordPress plugin WP-SMS (https://wp-sms-pro.com/) cannot send SMS messages itself. In order to send SMS messages, the plugin must be connected to an SMS gateway such as SureSMS. WP-SMS utilizes the many possibilities in WordPress and allows you to send from many different places and plugins. The SMS gateway ensures that the message is delivered to the recipient.

Setting up WP-SMS
To use WP-SMS in WordPress, you need to install WP-SMS in your WordPress installation and then link it to your SureSMS account. Below you can read how to

Setup in SureSMS
To use SureSMS from WP-SMS, you need a SureSMS account and you need an API key from SureSMS.
- Login to your SureSMS account here https://app.suresms.com
If you don't have an account, you can create one here Create SMS Gateway account - Select API keys in the menu
- Click Options in the top right corner and select "SureSMS API key" from the menu.
- In name you can write e.g. WP-SMS/WooCommerce if you need to use WP-SMS from WooCommerce
- Click on Save
Copy the API key so you have it for later.
We are now finished in SureSMS.
Setting up WP-SMS
Install and activate the WP-SMS plugin on your WordPress site
Go to the WordPress dashboard, find the 'Plugins' section, click 'Add New' and search for WP-SMS. Install and activate the plugin.
Configure WP-SMS with your SMS gateway
In the WP-SMS settings panel, enter the necessary information to integrate with your chosen SMS gateway:
Gateway name: Select SureSMS from the list of supported gateways
API Username Here you type "APIkey" without quotes
API PasswordHere you paste the APIkey you copied from SureSMS
Sender numberSet your own number or one of the authorized sender IDs you have on your SureSMS account (can be seen here https://app.suresms.com/Message/SenderData)
API key Here you paste the APIkey you copied from SureSMS
Testing the setup
You are now ready to test your integration. How you test it depends on which integrations and features you have chosen to use from WP-SMS. However, once you've sent a test text message from your chosen method, you can see the status of your message on SureSMS at this Outgoing messages page in SureSMS.
