Opportunities and limitations - Canada
Overview
Canada has very specific messaging restrictions and a direct connection is necessary to ensure message delivery to the many networks. SureSMS uses an extremely high quality direct connection to deliver your SMS to Canada.
Sender
All SMS messages sent to Canada must originate from either a US or Canadian pre-authorized long number associated with your SureSMS API account. Alpha sender pages are not supported.
Limited numeric sender only. In the "from" field, you must enter your pre-authorized Canadian (or US) virtual number in international format, e.g. 18479121345. Otherwise, your message will be rejected with the API response code Illegal sender address - rejected.
You can purchase pre-authorized long virtual numbers by writing to [email protected].
