Overview

Canada has very specific messaging restrictions and a direct connection is necessary to ensure message delivery to the many networks. SureSMS uses an extremely high quality direct connection to deliver your SMS to Canada.

Sender

All SMS messages sent to Canada must originate from either a US or Canadian pre-authorized long number associated with your SureSMS API account. Alpha sender pages are not supported.
Limited numeric sender only. In the "from" field, you must enter your pre-authorized Canadian (or US) virtual number in international format, e.g. 18479121345. Otherwise, your message will be rejected with the API response code Illegal sender address - rejected.
You can purchase pre-authorized long virtual numbers by writing to [email protected].

P2P: Person-to-person traffic can be sent to Canada from a long virtual number using the SMS API. SMS can come from a mobile phone, a computer application or an internet-based service, but the message must be initiated by human interaction.
A2P: Application-to-Person (A2P) traffic can be sent to Canada using Short Code. The traffic must not Related to drugs, marijuana, steroids or other controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, firearms, adult-oriented content or services Involve real estate purchases, annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking, or transactions to finance or refinance debt funded by a credit card Offering goods for sale before the sender has control or possession of the goods Offer traveler's checks or money orders, currency exchange or check cashing for sale Providing credit repair or debt relief
