Overview

Belgium is an extremely complex SMS market and there are many filters in play.

Sender

Sender ID will be changed to ensure delivery.
Alphanumeric sender IDs are not supported by Belgacom, so will be changed to a random numeric value.

Contents

The Belgian networks heavily filter and restrict international routes and even direct connections.
Belgacom only supports HP Roman 8 character set, so some special characters, such as €, are not displayed correctly.
Belgacom does not research Unicode.

Delivery receipts are provided for all networks, but they are network receipts instead of handset receipts.
